38th Annual Children’s National Symposium: ECMO and the Advanced Therapies for Cardiovascular and Respiratory Failure

This conference, sponsored by Children’s National Hospital, Division of Neonatology, will address the educational needs of health care workers involved in the care of neonatal, pediatric and adult patients in respiratory and/or cardiac failure.
Topics will encompass innovative technologies related to Neonatal, Pediatric and Adult Extracorporeal Life Support (ECLS). Presentations will include simulation development, mechanical circulatory support, nitric oxide and ventilation techniques.
Didactic instruction combined with panel discussions and short research presentations will enhance the audience’s knowledge in the latest treatments of respiratory and/or cardiac failure and pathophysiology of diseases. Outcome data along with limitations and complications of new therapies will be presented and discussed by experts in the field.
