Our Sponsors and donors
APAPP would like to thank our sponsors and donors for their support. Through their generosity, we are able to expand our association and provide support to Nurse Practitioners and Physician Associates working in pulmonary medicine.
Partner with APAPP
The Association of Pulmonary Advanced Practice Providers, APAPP, is the first association solely focused on Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) working in the realms of pulmonary medicine. For the first time, Nurse Practitioners and Physician Associates can unite under one membership to work towards a common goal of excellence in pulmonary medicine. APAPP recognizes the void in standards of education and training of APPs who choose to work in pulmonary medicine. Our goal is to create a home for pulmonary APPs and close the education gap by providing Fellowship and Certification opportunities.
APPs in Pulmonology provide a wide range of services in pulmonary, sleep medicine, and critical care. As of 2022, an estimated 3,000-8,000 APPs were working in pulmonology, according to an analysis done by an agency associated with CHEST. We know that this number will continue to grow. Pulmonology APPs work in several settings, including outpatient clinics, intensive care, and inpatient pulmonary consult services. APPs in Pulmonology write hundreds of prescriptions every day and manage many patients annually. Our members also work in administrative positions, University systems, serve on medical supply and equipment committees, and participate in the selection of home care services and equipment.
